November 29 – My Faith

November 29

Today I am thankful for my faith.

If you haven’t already picked up on it by now, you should know that I am a born-again Christian believer. I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was crucified for my sins, died, returned to life three days later, and rose to heaven 40 days after that, leaving his holy spirit to dwell within us.

I am thankful to have this belief, the assurance of God’s love, the assurance of eternal life, and the assurance God is always with me through the presence of the Holy Spirit.  I am blessed to know this through my own experience.

I am not a theologian, an obnoxious fundamentalist, or even what some people call a Bible thumping Southern Baptist. I consider myself what some people say is an impossibility, a liberal Christian.

There is not room enough here to explain all that entails. If you are interested in knowing more, find me on Facebook as Janet Hogan Chapman. You will find this trend in many of my posts. You will also find illustrations of my beliefs on my Jesus Pinterest board.

I don’t pretend to have all the answers,I only know what my faith has meant to me. I believe it can mean as much for others. I do not understand how people get by with no faith. When you think there is nowhere else to turn he is always there. My faith has seen me through life’s worst moments. I have rejoiced in my faith through life’s best moments. My faith gives me a peace that passes understanding, and I wish the same for each of you.
