June 2026
Y’all know how much I love SUMMER! For your listening pleasure here is the link to my summer playlist on YouTube. I’m sure there could be additions to this list. If you know of more please drop your suggestions in a comment below and I will get them added.

As I sit here in my living room the thunder is booming! Such is the norm for 5:40 pm on the Florida Coast. The thunderstorms are magnificent here and often bring God’s promise – a beautiful rainbow in the sky.
Some of the snowbirds who come down for the winter say they don’t know how I can stand it here in the summer. It is really no hotter here than it is in Georgia, and I’m only steps away from the ocean and the pool instead of hours.

Another bonus in summer is that I get visitors. Over the course of the next few weeks I will see all of my children and grandchildren, my sister and her family, and friends! Get your reservations in if you want to come see me. Many people asked wouldn’t I be lonely moving away to where I knew no one, but I knew I would plenty of company. Just like the Field of Dreams, if you buy it (the beach condo) they will come. In fact there are a couple of units for sale in my building. Check it out! I can honestly say that in the three plus years I’ve lived here I have not been lonely once.

I am honored to announce that the cover of my most recent book, The Letter Box, published by Sunsational Publishing LLC, was selected by the Georgia Independent Authors Association as the winner for the category of Best Adult Non-fiction cover design 2026. The designer was Red Maylon (https://redmaylon.com/). I gave her a concept idea and she brought it to life beautifully. This gorgeous design has received many compliments.
A big event this summer is the USA’s 250th birthday! A highlight this past May was that my sister, niece, and I got to attend the DAR ceremony placing an official marker in honor of my 4th great grandfather, a Revolutionary War Patriot. I am a direct decendant of at least three other
documented Revolutionary war veterans.

A note to all my West End, Brown High School, and other interested friends. Some of you have encouraged me to write about those times and experiences we shared over the years. I am pleased to say I am closing in on the final details for publishing my memoir, People Like Us. Many friends and family will find themselves nodding as they see themselves on the pages of this work. It is not all pretty, but then, truth is not always pretty. A memoir, by its nature, is how one person recollects their past. There may be differences in our recall but I’ve been told my memory is exceptional. No cover reveal yet, but stay tuned for a release date.

I do have a bit of sad news to share. My long time companion, my Yorkshire Terrier Jazzy, has crossed the rainbow bridge. He was fifteen years old. Many of you know the grief of losing a beloved pet. I knew it was time. He could barely see or hear, and he had difficulty getting around. The Laps of Love service made a sad event as comforting as possible. I highly recommend their services if you have to help a pet transition.
